Just watch if you want to have a frowny face all day.

its a glorified smartphone for your tv that is going to drag you down with all the programs running in the background…

Also.. xboxone? cmon, I want xbox720

edit:

The problem is that it is a huge deterrent for developers.  Keep in mind all of my comments are as a game developer.  Sure there were lots of people who have purchased tons of gadgets that give them what theyve had and what they want unchanged for 10+ years and they dont want it to ever be any different.  But as a developer this really cuts us short in scope.

We all know there are 8 cores and at least one of them is tossed to the OS running all the bg programs but who knows what else we are going to see.  So far is just been another low end machine that can still be outclassed even in architecture by a cheaper PC.

While I am still waiting for the full specs of course, and most of us are, the fact alone that their stock dropped 8% after the conference means something. :/ and i think we all agree we are sad they have yet to show developers something more powerful to play with!

Gosh, I wish comments could be more easily accessed and written on this damned thing.

I of course take into account that you’re a dev, and in fact it’s one of the biggest things I adore about you and your posts.  From a professional sense… obviously.

But, I think you made my point for me.  MS clearly isn’t working with a ton of good will stockpiled or anything, they still haven’t released specs.  It’s pretty much a given that a living-room brick isn’t going to outclass a decent rig, but I think a lot of the great games and innovations we see come from creative dev teams working with what they know is a static playing field.

It just feels like the 360/ps3 all over again, where I’m seeing a flood of developers that are predisappointed in a new toy they haven’t even gotten to unwrap.  Let’s inject this new, ugly, plastic brick with some optimism! Your team, and countless others, are going to create a new generation of gorgeous and hopefully revolutionary that sets our creative minds in motion.

This is really really painful…

Stopppp no more sports games, omg, stop it… just stop. Cmon….

edit2:

Xbox720 renamed to ESPNBOX, the xboxone was just a clever ruse #iamreallysadrightnow

It’s more or less what we all expected it to be (minus the goofball name). Though who are we kidding? We’ll just say Xbox.

With the exception of games I want to play specifically in my living room, and with a controller, I’m using my comp. It will still probably be the hub for my tv media. I think most people that are serious about any kind of gaming that uses a mouse or keyboard have invested in a computer anyway.

Much as I am generally on the same page with ya, I have to respectfully disagree. I didn’t want a giant leap forward, just some more horsepower, and this looks to deliver.

I think I might be a glutton for punishment.  But, like all the pros say, just do SOMETHING.

X-Men redesigns by Scott Ngo. From Cyclops to Sage.

Pretty solid designs, I like that they’re for the most part identifiable as part of a set. I think my quibbles come in the form of none of them being overly iconic. In a way they remind of the movie uniforms, functional, but dull. As an artistic preference as well I enjoy seeing more build variety. Colossus doesn’t look power, nor does Beast. In the same way Kitty has the same muscle mass as Rogue. I understand making uniform forms for the sake of production, but differentiating silhouette makes a big difference when everyone is wearing a skin tight body suit.

Why 'Speed Racer' Is Way Better Than You Remember - Film.com -

benito-cereno:

True story: Speed Racer was the best genre film of 2008. Sorry, Iron Man. Sorry, Dark Knight.

Yeah, pretty much. Iron Man was enjoyable on a different level, the entire Dark Knight trilogy is pretty useless, but Speed Racer was amazing and wholly underrated!

My entry for Project Rooftop’s Green Lantern redesign contest, deadline is May 15th ya’ll, get on it! Personally I like #s 4, 5, and 6 better… but I think this simple scheme better suits the character.

bradgreg asked: Your url... Oh my god... It is the best combination of best things in the history of best combinations of best things. *high five*

Haha, thanks!  I’m pretty fond of both (all three..?) said things as well ;) I recall bumping into another gent using it a while back, really nice guy, the problem with plays on words like this is that they aren’t terribly original. He seemed mildly butt-hurt, like I was stealing his identity or something.
